Cronulla is the only beach in Sydney with its own train station. It's a short ride from Mortdale, and then a short walk (maybe 3 minutes) from Cronulla Station to the the Beach at the other end. If you prefer the bay (without waves) to the beach, go to Gunnamatta Bay at Cronulla (also only a 3 minute walk from Cronulla Station).
