The ever impressive Dunnottar Castle is just a 10 minute car ride from our apartment. There is also a really lovey walk up to the castle which would take about 40mins and takes in the harbour and the War Memorial.

Giulianotti Ice Cream shop is a bit of a local legend - freshly made on the premises to an old family recipe the ice cream here is divine and award winning. It is also a mere 1min from our apartment!

Another local legend of the ice cream scene! Aunty Bettys is on the beach front and the perfect place to pick up a delicious ice cream sundae, coffee or cake!
It is also stones throw from the award winning Bay Fish and Chip shot and is approximately a 10min walk from the apartment.

Stonehaven Golf Club and course sits atop cliffs and overlooks the town and bay. Open to visitors and you can hire equipment - absolutely stunning scenery and even if you are not a golfer it is worth a visit for the views alone (and you can get a wee cuppa in the cafe!)

Stonehaven Open Air Pool is the only heated, sea water open air pools in Scotland and is well worth a visit. Only a 15min walk from the flat and right next to the beach.

Most summers (except the last two, thanks COVID!) Stonehaven plays host to a folk festival welcoming visitors and artists alike from across the globe. The harbour area and pubs is often teeming with musicians and music.
