Neighbourhoods

From the flat you鈥檙e in easy walking distance of town - walk up to St Leonard鈥檚 road which has a cute local drinking spot called the Old Court. Heading left from there into town - the Organic Bread Shop is perfect for an early morning coffee takeaway with pastries, Millar鈥檚 Eatery on the opposite side for more good coffee & brunch/sandwiches with an outdoor heated marquee, Hoppy Place is a beer tap shop with hidden seating area at the back. The Prince Arthur is a great local pub showing Rugby & football fixtures also the Windsor Trooper highly recommended for Sunday lunch &/or mid week live music. Michael Chell is a great independent menswear shop if you fancy a designer spend-up, then onto Peascod St which is the main high street, lower end has some cute independents great for gifts & mooching around, also charity shops. Off the main drag is a good Zara & nice chain shops by Central station (under cover of the old railway station)

Walk down the hill from the castle (Honest Burger is a decent chain burger including the Vegan burger option) past the theatre, carry on walking across the bridge to Eton (cote brasserie has great views & is pretty at night) the George is a good pub with outdoor area & further along in Eton, Henry Vl if you want sport and a few other great local restaurants there in Eton. All around Eton college & into the Brocas (field adjacent to the river) is nice for a walk. You can loop all the way back round to the other side of the river to the loading bay cafe - a vegan cafe really cool place tucked away in an industrial estate with vinyl records on a Saturday morning Or to the Duke of Connaught (which does yummy Thai food & has covered outdoor seating)

You can鈥檛 miss some views of the castle & a venture up/down the long walk. The Queen Charlotte, Clarence Tearoom, Intoku (sushi) & Fortescues (Ice cream) on the cobbles opposite the castle look like tourist places but they鈥檙e actually really popular with locals, great for both food & drinks. For a longer walk head up the long walk to the copper horse, take a left at the top you can walk to The Fox & Hounds which has undercover outdoor seating which is first come first served, great pub food (about an hour walk in total or you can drive up in 10 mins from the flat & take a longer walk all the way to Virginia Water)
