A spectacularly beautiful ten minute drive from the house is the trail head leading to Sycamore Canyon Falls — a variety of trails allow you to customize the difficulty of your hike, while still enjoying the splendid reward of the scenic falls themselves. We romp in these hills every week and highly recommend for hikers of all experience levels.

Two minutes walk from the house is the wonderful Foxfield Stables, where you can embark on a trail ride to explore the hills the old way!

Take the kids to Underwood Family Farms for a day they’ll never forget! Whether romping in their pumpkin patch at halloween, cuddling bunnies and ducklings in the spring or hay rides in the summer, this huge farm always has plenty of fun to offer. They have red wagons at the gate to pull the little ones, a massive petting zoo, rides and county fair style snacks.

Choose from three great restaurants on the Westlake waterfront — Boccaccios (Italian), The Landing (Sushi), and Zin (Contemporary Californian) — all offer beautiful outdoor dining to soak up the scenery. Or let us know in advance and we can arrange an afternoon/evening boat rental (different lake from our house). The restaurants will make up a table to serve you right on the boat. We did this often during covid and enjoying your own private floating restaurant never disappoints!

Joi Cafe does great vegan food, coffee and juices — lots of delicious healthy options, gluten free etc — and bonus is that on Sundays, the farmers market is right outside! The Moody Rooster, on the same block, is one of the best restaurants in town
