north beacon hill ::
another two miles north is the upper part of Beacon Hill (we’re in the middle area) - here you’ll also find some fun spots to hit, including Homer for amazing food (try happy hour before the crowds hit). Bar del Corso is located a bit more south and serves wood fired pizza, and El Quetzal is a fun Mexican restaurant and bar (all the mole dishes are yummy). Perihelion Brewery is a fun spot also featuring craft beer and tasty burgers. The light rail stations is right there to take you downtown in a few minutes if you don’t feel like driving.

one of my most favorite neighborhoods in Seattle is Georgetown, just a mile down the hill (on the other side of I5). All City Coffee is a great local cafe with excellent coffee, and Maruta Shoten is a local Japense grocery store just up the street - their sushi is also 1/2 price at 5pm (deal!). if you’re a beer aficionado, Georgetown Brewery boasts some of the best brews in town (grab one of the empty growlers under the sink and bring it there for a fill)...Lucile IPA is one of my favorites. and for the best crepes in the city (sweet and savory), check out the Hangar Cafe for a yummy brunch. and for Mexican food, Fonda la Catrina is a must on Airport Way. just a few miles to the east is another vibrant neighborhood....Columbia City is one of the most ethnically diverse neighborhoods in the country, and a hotspot for restuaurants and pubs. Lotties Lounge is a fun neighborhood pub and has live music on the weekend. Columbia City Alehouse has decent food, including a drool worthy Reuben sandwich. If you want to catch some sports, Rookie’s is a good spot and their food is good as well. For a live music show check out the Columbia City Theater for local talent, and the Ark Lodge Cinema is a recently restored movie house. the Columbia City Farmer’s Market from May to October is also a must do.
