In the heart of York Beach, a smaller beach surrounded by the village of shops, restaurants, the Goldenrod (homemade ice cream and salt water taffy) and the Fun-O-Rama arcade. Great scene for kids. There is also a playground, park with a gazebo, and basketball courts. Metered parking lots and public restrooms. Three miles from the house.
Quiet, beautiful beach that has parking only for residents, but you can easily drop off family and beach gear, return car to the house and walk or bike back. It's 3/4 mile from the house. Has public restrooms with outdoor shower area for rinsing off sand. Next to the beach (across from the York Harbor Inn) is the Hartley Mason Reserve, a beautiful 4 acre park along the water, and the beginning of the Cliff Walk. Two-hour metered parking along the road, but it's also a very easy walk from the house.
