This reserve is the most Southerly Reed bed habitat in the country.

Nature reserve, lots of interesting and unusual birds. Has a lovely walk following the red river that comes out at near by Crowlass. The Star inn makes a perfect pit stop with its on site craft brewery before heading back to the cottage. Following Rospeath lane on the way back makes for a nice circular walk.

Great for bird watching including the starlings, a fantastic setting to watch a murmuration. Usually in the Autumn, just before dusk.
