Great coffee, great food, friendly staff and management. Lots of outdoor seating makes this a busy spot in warm months. Sandwiches, salads, grain bowls, Pleasant House Bakery pot pies.

Great coffee, outstanding meat pies. Go here for lunch and browse books next door at the Seminary Coop Bookstore, or walk through Robie House next door on the other side.

This place can be painfully hip (for book-ish Hyde Park, at least), but the food is great and the drinks are awesome. The playlist is eclectic, and it's easy to spend hours working, reading, or just people watching.
