Where water and land meet sky. With its pristine turquoise waters, the Niagara Escarpments and the Bruce Peninsula National Park, you’ll see why it’s the 8th Wonder of Canada. Fathom Five National Marine Park is famous for its scuba diving. Take a glass-bottomed boat to Flowerpot Island or rent a SUP and explore the coastline. On land, delight in the numerous culinary options. Comb the village galleries and shops for treasures. Your first impression is breathtaking. Your last is unforgettable.

Parking Expect to pay for parking, but know your visit is worth the drive! Go early and park at the Community Centre to be close to everything. Gas/Fuel Your best places to fill your tank with gas are in Wiarton before heading north, or in Ferndale, half-way to Tobermory. There is also a small gas station as you come into Tobermory on the right: Hoppy's Gas Bar. Gas stations on the peninsula close early, so don't delay! There are more and more EV stations opening up on the Bruce, as well! Public Restrooms Beside the Chart Shop on the north side of the harbour there is a public restroom. The Sweet Shop and the Coffee Shop also have washrooms open to the public, but there may be a longer line. Finally, the Community Centre where I recommend you park also has public facilities, but they can be REALLY smelly! Bank Machine/ATM The Royal Bank is located on the left-hand side as you drive into Tobermory. If you want to use cash, I recommend bringing some or going to one of the banks in Wiarton before heading north. Sometimes Tobermory is so busy the ATM runs out of cash! Favourite attractions and things to do in Tobermory: Outdoor Adventures -Blue Heron Cruise to Flowerpot Island (many types of boat trips to consider!). I endorse Blue Heron Cruises as a local family run business who know the region well and support local community initiatives. While on Flowerpot, you might stop to swim at the flowerpots, take photos, or hike out to the lighthouse. There is a longer trail that circumnavigates the island that you may want to book a day-trip for in order to not be rushed. Take food as there are no restaurants on the island. The only washrooms are at the boat dock and the lighthouse (confirm there is one there upon your departure). -Little Cove Adventures - if you like to challenge yourself, Little Cove Adventures just south of town offers a really fun high ropes course! Reserve ahead! -Visit the Bruce Peninsula National Park Visitor Centre! For nature lovers this VC offers a spot to cool off and learn about the local region. The entire facility was designed and built locally, including all of the displays! Climb the tower for views over the lands and waters of the National Park and beyond! -Water Walk - along the harbour's south side there are boardwalks where you can walk along and get very close to the water. Shopping -There are many shops to explore. My favourites are: -Marco Polo for clothing and fun imports, -Blue Heron for high end marine and outdoor clothing, -Nature's Gifts for funky jewelry, -Reader's Haven for books and gift items, -The Chart Shop for local souvenirs and marine items. Restaurants -Best fish and chips in town come from Craigee's. I like to order take-out and then find a spot to sit outside and enjoy the view while I eat. Local fish served in generous proportions. -Della Rocca Pizzeria beside Nature's Gifts does wood fired pizza that is super yummy! -Tobermory Brew Pub - love it for atmosphere and more up-scale meals. If you are a meat eater, drink beer, and/or like charcuterie boards, this is the restaurant for you! -Tobermory Tacos - I have yet to go, but the word from friends is their tacos are great! -Coconut Joe's Harbour Bar and Grill - featured on television as a restaurant re-do/reno, this fun licensed outdoor grill offers a Tikki bar with a Tobermory vibe and good food! Outdoor dining at its best! -The Sweet Shop - This longstanding attraction is a must for those with a sweet tooth. Grab an ice cream and shop for confections! -The Coffee Shop - The best place to grab teas, coffees, and breakfast items. Drinks -If partying and drinking is your thing, the Tobermory Legion is always a good time in the evenings when they are open. Otherwise, the Crow's Nest is a popular "watering hole". Please don't drink and drive.

You are in a harbour in Tobermory .. one of the deepest harbours in the world. This is the tip of an incredible peninsula that has fresh water as far as the eye can see in all directions.. surrounded by evergreen forests. This is truly nature at its finest; fresh crystal waters; fresh air; beautiful trees in all directions..
