You can visit Santo Domingo, Museo de las Culturas and this place on the same day. It will save you time. The place offers guided visits at noon and 5 pm.

The Ethnobotanical Garden in Oaxaca is fairly unique in its concept and has proved very successful. In 1993 the Military moved out of Santo Domingo church and grounds, and the space was decided, after some petition, to be used for a ethnobotanical garden, a celebration of both ecology and culture.

You have to sign up to go on a tour given in English, Spanish or French on certain hours and days. This is a beautiful garden designed by a Oaxacan artist and landscape architect in which only native plants have been planted. All of them have been and/or still are used by the indigenous people's of Oaxaca.
